Nardee Indian Restaurant is located in the old Coach House Restaurant on the Yarra in Warrandyte. Since Raj and his family, Cathy and Renu, took over the business in 2001 they have been serving up delicious traditional North Indian and tandoori-style food for locals and travellers alike.
With a cosy atmosphere featuring an open fireplace and bar overlooking the Yarra River it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the wonderful Indian delights whose aromas waft in from the kitchen. Raj has been cooking for more than 18 years and some will remember him from Ameer in Essendon. With specialties like Aloo Bagan, a traditional dish with potato, eggplant, tomato, capsicum and coconut cream in masala and tomato sauce or Kofta Nawabi, potato and paneer cheese in curry sauce, as well as tandoori chicken and lamb, prawn masala, chicken korma and beef vindaloo, it’s easy to see why people keep coming back.
All tastes catered for
All food is made fresh and Raj will cater specifically to you dietary requirements with gluten–free foods, vegetarian and vegan dishes. Lunchtime sittings are by appointment only, making it a great place for corporate functions and meetings. There is a small beer garden to the side if the weather is nice. Nardee caters for all functions, including weddings and engagements, birthdays and parties.
Banquets, featuring a full range of courses, are a special feature. The wine list comprises of standard favourites like De Bortoli’s Gulf Station and the Windy Peak range, Penfolds and Brown Brothers or you may also BYO wine.
A range local and International beer is kept cold in house, to help wash down your meal with Nardee’s traditional tandoori breads.
If you are looking for a peaceful setting and have a love of Indian fare it’s hard to drive past Nardee right in the heart of Warrandyte, across from the Yarra. If you can’t make it in they have a takeaway menu. There is onsite parking and Nardee accepts all major credit cards as well as having EFTPOS.
