Jason and Kirsten took over the Jumping Creek Restaurant & Bar in 2001 and have created a warm atmosphere in which to enjoy Jason’s gourmet cooking. Having worked at several noted restaurants across Australia, including Red Ochre in Adelaide and Franco's in Nicholson Street, Fitzroy, Jason brings to the table modern Australian cuisine featuring seafood and steak and says you will never walk away hungry from the Jumping Creek. With tempting dishes like duck tortellini, 1/2 shell scallops with gremolata of lemon zest, grain–fed beef producing 450g porterhouse steaks and sumptuous seafood platters, it’s easy to see why those who have called in by chance keep coming back. You can wash down your meal with a good selection of local, Australian and New Zealand regional wines or beers such as Boags, Cascade, Coopers or try a Mt Macedon boutique brewed drop from Holgate brewery. (They have a goodl range of international beer as well.) On Sundays at Jumping Creek you will often catch live music ranging from jazz and blues through to easy listening so you can kick back and enjoy a pleasant afternoon. The Jumping Creek Restaurant & Bar has inside and outside dining in their beer garden and diners with special needs are always catered for. If you plan to head to the Yarra Valley take the scenic route through Warrandyte, turn left at Warranglen Nursery and follow Jumping Creek Road almost to the end and pop in to take advantage of Jason & Kirsten’s friendly hospitality. In winter you can prop in front of the open fire and enjoy their freshly made fare. All functions catered for in the restaurant, which seats 85. All cards are accepted except Diners Club.
